The estate practice of Karl Uotinen, P.C. is focused on estate planning and estate administration, including the preparation and administration of wills, trusts, advance medical directives, general powers of attorney, and advising executors and trustees regarding their duties.
Another major, related practice concentration is in the area of elder law with a specific focus on long term care planning. We help clients facing the prospect of significant long term care or nursing home costs gain a better understanding of the options available to pay for the needed care including navigating complex Medicaid regulations, addressing Medicaid eligibility issues, and the potential availability of certain veterans benefits. We also advise and assist with guardianship issues and other concerns.
Karl Uotinen also has experience counseling small business owners regarding the legal needs of their business, including entity selection, formation of LLC’s or Subchapter S Corporations, non-compete agreements, and service as registered agent.
Lastly, as a former litigator and associate of a firm with a large insurance defense practice, Karl is also able to discuss your personal injury case with you and give you objective advice, including a referral to a competent personal injury plaintiff’s attorney who would be a good match for you and your case.
